Deutsche Bank
The Challenge
The Bank was undertaking a series of significant, high-impact transformation programmes while facing sustained pressure to maintain Production Stability across a complex global technology estate. Major change initiatives were being delivered in parallel, increasing operational risk and exposing weaknesses in transition into live environments.

There was no single, structured Global Transition Services function to define standards, provide oversight, and ensure consistency in how change was moved safely into production. Programme teams operated with varying levels of control and discipline, creating potential risk to service stability, regulatory compliance and customer confidence.
A clearly defined global capability was required to embed best practice, strengthen governance, and ensure both Production Stability and major programme delivery were managed in a coordinated and measurable way.
The Solution
MDIGITAL led the design and establishment of a new Global Transition Services function to strengthen Production Stability and improve the delivery of the Bank’s most significant change initiatives.
A structured operating model was defined, including clear roles, accountability frameworks and governance standards to ensure consistency across global delivery teams. Transition principles and control mechanisms were formalised to support safer movement of change into live production environments.

Robust readiness and assurance processes were introduced, enabling earlier identification of risk and improving executive confidence in programme status. Delivery teams were supported in aligning to common stability objectives, with strengthened oversight across major programmes.
Reporting was enhanced to provide senior stakeholders with transparent insight into Production Stability metrics, transition readiness and delivery performance. This ensured that operational risk, dependencies and potential service impacts were clearly understood and actively managed.
The result was a more disciplined and coordinated approach to change across the Bank, balancing ambitious transformation goals with operational control.with the operational discipline required in a highly regulated global environment.
The Outcome
Improved Production Stability through strengthened governance and oversight
Safer transition of change into live production environments
Greater predictability and control across major programmes
Enhanced executive visibility and confidence in delivery reporting
A sustainable Global Transition Services capability embedded within the organisation
